Conclusions and recommendations of the Inaugural World Citizens Assembly on Water (WCAW), 27-29 Octo

During the inaugural meeting of the World Citizens Assembly on Water (WCAW) in Kuala Lumpur from 27-29 October 2005, attended by a total 25 participants from as many international organizations, the following conclusions were reached:

(1) All the participants that attended the World Citizens Assembly on Water (WCAW) unanimously agreed that the WCAW is a very innovative idea that is much needed to give the world’s citizens a “Voice” regarding the governance of water resources in the world.

(2) All participants are of the conclusion that the WCAW is workable when given the right support from all parties, the existing allies already with the Alliance for a Responsible, Plural & United World (ARPUW), the Charles Leopold Mayer Foundation (FPH) and new allies who are about to join in the WCAW.
